Join musical artist Denise Pelley and accompanist Stephen Holowitz in a lecture and listen series about Famous Black Canadians inside the AME Church. September 27, 2026, the sixth edition focuses on Rose Fortune, Loyalist and Canada's first female police officer, and hockey player, Herb Carnegie.

An evening of reflection, remembrance, learning and community. There will be Indigenous elders, a residential school Survivor, and the dancers of the Sweet Labour Art Collective for this deeply moving and meaningful gathering.

Valrita Fournier is a multi-talented playwright, poet, mystic, novelist, composer, and master of ceremonies. A graduate of the University of Toronto with a degree in English Language and Literature, she won first prize in a one-act play competition with her comedic work Eggs-Actly My Dear!.

Though not a musician by training, Valrita has organized musical and theatrical events at numerous venues including Place Concorde, Mackenzie Hall, WEDS Theatre, church halls, wedding stages, and even a Women’s Day whiskey-tasting book talk at a distillery restaurant.

Four performances.  Two venues.   On the 85th anniversary of the crash of American Airlines Flagship Erie in Lawrence Station, ON, the story of its final flight where local residents rushed to rescue the 17 passengers and 3 crew members aboard. At the time, it was Canada’s worst aviation disaster. This music-infused play explores the lives forever changed by the tragic final flight of the Flagship Erie.

Join the Glencoe & District Historical Society on Wednesday, December 9th at the Glencoe Train Station for the launch of Glencoe Station: The Restoration of Glencoe Station Middlesex, marking 25 years since this beloved community landmark was saved and restored. Doors open at 2:00 p.m., with the presentation beginning at 2:30 p.m.

We especially welcome the families and descendants of those who were part of the original save-the-station effort. So many of the people who gave their time, voices, and determination to this cause are no longer with us, and this event is as much a tribute to them as it is a celebration of the building they saved. If your family has a connection to the Glencoe Station restoration story, we would love to see you there.

Join us for a celebration of Robert Burns Day (Burns Night), honouring the life and poetry of Scotland's national bard. We'll mark the occasion with a traditional wee Burns Supper featuring haggis, neeps, and tatties, accompanied by a Scotch tasting.
