Why should a historical society care about somebody’s apple pie recipe?

Because history isn’t only buildings, dates and documents. It is how people lived.

The food people made, the traditions they kept, and the recipes they passed down tell us about families, communities and everyday life.

By preserving the recipes and the memories that go with them, G&DHS preserves a part of our local history that might otherwise be lost.

Review your information and submit.

Each submission will be reviewed by the Glencoe and District Historical Society before it is added to the collection.

Prefer to use paper? Download the Paper Recipe Form, complete it at home, and return it to the G&DHS Archives during open hours. If you need help, one of our volunteers will be happy to assist—and we’ll put the kettle on.
